Car
If you are traveling by car from Fatick to the African Renaissance Monument in Dakar, head north on the N1 highway towards Dakar. Continue on the N1 for about 80 kilometers. As you approach Dakar, follow the signs to the city center. Once in Dakar, look for signs towards Ouakam where the monument is located. The monument's address is PGC4+V2M, Ouakam, Dakar. Note that parking may be available near the monument, but be prepared for possible parking fees.
Public Transportation
To reach the African Renaissance Monument from Fatick using public transportation, you can take a sept-place (shared taxi) from Fatick to Dakar. The journey takes approximately 1.5 to 2 hours. Once you arrive at the main taxi station in Dakar (Gare Routière), you can take a local taxi or a bus towards Ouakam. Inform the driver that you are going to the African Renaissance Monument. The taxi fare from the station to the monument should be around 2,000 to 5,000 CFA francs, depending on negotiation and traffic.
Combination of Public Transportation and Walking
From Fatick, take a sept-place to Dakar, then upon arrival at Gare Routière, take a taxi to Ouakam. After arriving in Ouakam, you may need to walk approximately 10-15 minutes to reach the African Renaissance Monument, depending on your drop-off point. Ensure you have comfortable shoes as the walk can be slightly uphill.
