Car
From Fatick, head south on Route N1 towards the town of Mbour. Continue on Route N1 for approximately 30 kilometers. Once you reach Mbour, look for signs directing you towards Somone. You will turn left onto Route de Somone and follow the signs for about 10 kilometers. As you approach Somone, keep an eye out for the lagoon area. The final destination, Lagune de la Somone, is located at FWW7+CX, Somone. Parking may be available nearby, but be prepared for possible fees.
Public Transportation
In Fatick, locate the bus station where you can catch a 'sept-place' (shared taxi) heading to Mbour. The fare is typically around 1,000 CFA francs. Once in Mbour, you will need to switch to another 'sept-place' or a local taxi heading to Somone. The fare for this leg will be approximately 500 CFA francs. After reaching Somone, you can either walk to Lagune de la Somone (approximately a 1-kilometer walk) or hire a local taxi if you're carrying luggage.
Bicycle
For the adventurous, renting a bicycle in Fatick can be a fun way to reach Lagune de la Somone. Start your journey on Route N1 towards Mbour. The distance is about 40 kilometers, and it may take around 2-3 hours depending on your pace. Make sure to bring plenty of water, and observe road safety rules.
