Car
From Matam, head south on the N1 highway toward Dakar. You will need to drive approximately 400 kilometers. Follow the signs to Thies and continue on the N1 until you reach the town of Mbour. From Mbour, follow the signs for Somone. Once you arrive in Somone, look for signs leading to the Lagune de la Somone. The lagoon is located at FWW7+CX, Somone. Parking may be available nearby, and be mindful of any local parking fees which can vary.
Public Transportation
Start at the Matam bus station and take a 'sept-place' (shared taxi) heading to Dakar. The fare is approximately 3,000 CFA (around $5). Once you reach the Dakar bus station, transfer to another 'sept-place' or a local bus heading toward Mbour. This journey will cost about 1,500 CFA ($2.50). Upon arrival in Mbour, take a local taxi directly to Somone. The taxi fare should be around 2,000 CFA ($3.50). Once in Somone, you can either walk or take a short taxi ride to the lagoon located at FWW7+CX.

The cost may vary, but expect to pay around 40,000 CFA ($67) for a one-way trip. The driver should be familiar with the destination, located at FWW7+CX in Somone.
