Getting There

• Walking

  From the center of Saint-Louis, head southeast on Avenue De La Libération towards Rue B. Continue straight for about 500 meters until you reach the intersection with Boulevard de la République. Turn left onto Boulevard de la République and walk for approximately 1 kilometer. You will then reach the bridge connecting to the mainland. Cross the bridge and continue straight onto Route de la Mer. Follow this road for about 2 kilometers until you reach the main entrance to Dakar. Once there, ask locals for directions to the African Renaissance Monument, as it's a well-known landmark in the area.

• Public Transport

  Start at the central bus station in Saint-Louis. Take a bus heading towards Dakar, which will take about 1 to 1.5 hours. Once you arrive in Dakar, get off at the bus terminal near Plateau. From there, you can take a taxi or a local bus heading towards Ouakam. Inform the driver that you want to get to the African Renaissance Monument, and they will drop you off close to the entrance.

• Bicycle

  Rent a bicycle from one of the local shops in Saint-Louis. Start by cycling southeast along Avenue De La Libération. Continue straight until you reach Boulevard de la République and turn left. Keep cycling for about 1 kilometer to reach the bridge. Cross the bridge and continue on Route de la Mer for approximately 2 kilometers. You may need to ask for directions once you reach Dakar, as the monument is a prominent landmark and locals will be able to guide you.
