From the center of Thiès, head to the main bus station (Gare Routière de Thiès). Look for a bus or shared taxi heading to Mbour, which is a common route. The fare is usually around 500-1000 CFA. Once you board, inform the driver or conductor that you are going to Popenguine, as they will know when to drop you off.

After getting dropped off on the main road in Popenguine, walk towards the direction where you see signs for Réserve naturelle de Popenguine. Follow the signs along Route de Popenguine for approximately 1 kilometer. The reserve entrance will be on your right side. Look for a gate that indicates the entrance to the nature reserve.

Alternatively, if you prefer not to walk, after being dropped off in Popenguine, you can take a motorcycle taxi (Jakarta) for a short ride to the entrance of Réserve naturelle de Popenguine. These are usually parked near the bus drop-off points. Just negotiate the fare before getting on, which should be around 200-500 CFA.
