Walking
From the center of Thiès, start at Place de la République. Head west on Rue de la République towards Avenue El Hadji Malick Sy. Continue straight for about 1 km until you reach the junction with Avenue de la Libération. Turn left onto Avenue de la Libération and walk for another 1.5 km. You will reach the Thiès bus station, known as Gare Routière de Thiès. Here, take a shared taxi (also known as a 'sept-place') heading to Mbour. The ride will take approximately 30 minutes. Once you arrive in Mbour, ask the driver to drop you off at HXX8+53G, which is the approximate location of Foret de Baobabs. From there, it’s a short walk to the entrance of the forest.
Public Transport
Begin your journey at Place de la République in Thiès. Walk to the Gare Routière de Thiès (bus station), which is about 1 km from the central square. Board a minibus (locally called 'Ndiaga Ndiaye') heading to Mbour. The fare is quite affordable, and the journey will take around 30 minutes. Once you arrive in Mbour, look for a taxi or a motorcycle taxi (known as 'Jakarta') to take you to HXX8+53G. Inform the driver that you want to go to Foret de Baobabs. The taxi ride will be short, approximately 10-15 minutes.
