Taxi
From any location in Thiès, you can catch a taxi to Lagune de la Somone. Head to the main road or a taxi rank, such as the one near the Thiès train station. Make sure to negotiate the fare beforehand; it should be around 3,000 to 5,000 CFA. Once you're in the taxi, tell the driver you're going to 'Lagune de la Somone.' The driver will take you along the N1 highway towards Mbour. After about 30 minutes, you will arrive in Somone. The driver will drop you off near the lagoon entrance.

To take a 'car rapide' (shared minibus), walk to the main bus station in Thiès. Look for a 'car rapide' heading to Mbour, which is a major town near Somone. The fare is typically around 1,500 CFA. Once you board, enjoy the local atmosphere as you travel. After approximately 45 minutes, ask the driver to drop you off at the junction for Somone. From there, you can take a motorcycle taxi (also known as 'jakarta') to reach Lagune de la Somone for an additional 500 to 1,000 CFA.
