Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving, head to the main road in Fruška Gora National Park. From the town of Novi Sad, take the E75 highway towards Subotica for about 20 km. Take the exit towards Ruma and follow the signs for Fruška Gora. After entering the park, keep an eye out for signs directing you to Velika Remeta Monastery. The monastery is located approximately 7 km from the entrance of the park. Once you reach Velika Remeta, you will find parking available near the monastery.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Velika Remeta Monastery by public transport, take a bus from Novi Sad to Ruma. The buses run frequently, and the journey takes around 30 minutes. Once you arrive in Ruma, you can take a local taxi or use a rideshare app to reach the monastery, which is about 10 km away. Alternatively, check for any local bus services that may go directly to Velika Remeta, but be aware that they may have limited schedules. Make sure to check the latest bus times and availability before your trip.

• Bicycle

  For the adventurous, cycling to Velika Remeta Monastery is a great option. You can rent a bicycle in Novi Sad and follow the biking paths towards Fruška Gora National Park. The route will take you through beautiful landscapes. Once inside the park, follow the signs to Velika Remeta; the distance from the park entrance to the monastery is approximately 7 km. Make sure to bring water and snacks, and be prepared for some uphill riding.

• Walking

  If you're already hiking in Fruška Gora National Park, Velika Remeta Monastery is accessible by foot. Look for marked trails leading to the monastery. The walk may take around 1-2 hours depending on your starting point within the park. Ensure you have a good map or a GPS device, as some trails may not be well-marked. Also, wear comfortable hiking shoes and carry enough water for the journey.
