Breathtaking Views at Anse Major

Walking

Start your journey at the Beau Vallon Beach area, which is a popular hub for tourists. From the beach, head north along the coastal road (Boulevard Louis) until you reach a small path on your right that leads inland. Follow this path until you reach the intersection with Anse Major Road. Turn left onto Anse Major Road and continue walking. The road will take you through lush greenery and stunning views. Keep an eye out for signposts that indicate the direction to Anse Major. After approximately 30 minutes of walking, you will reach a fork in the road. Take the right path which leads towards Bel Ombre. This path can be rocky and uneven, so be careful as you walk. Continue along this path until you arrive at the viewpoint, where you will be rewarded with breathtaking views of Anse Major.

Hiking

For a more adventurous route, from Beau Vallon, you can start at the southern end of the beach and locate the trailhead that leads to Anse Major. The trail is marked and offers a more rugged experience through the forest. Follow the trail signs, which will guide you through the lush tropical forest. The hike will take around 1 to 1.5 hours, depending on your pace. The trail is somewhat steep and uneven in parts, so proper footwear is recommended. As you approach the viewpoint, pay attention to the signs that indicate the viewpoint location. Once you reach the viewpoint, take a moment to enjoy the stunning panoramas of the coastline and the pristine beaches.

Public Transport

Although there is no direct public transport to the viewpoint, you can take a bus from Beau Vallon to the nearest bus stop on Anse Major Road. Look for buses heading towards Bel Ombre or Anse La Mouche. Once you get off at the bus stop, follow Anse Major Road on foot. It's a short walk from the bus stop to the viewpoint. Expect the bus ride to take about 15-20 minutes, followed by a 10-15 minute walk to the viewpoint.
