Getting There

• Car

  If you're traveling by car from Kenema, head northwest on the A2 highway. Continue for about 50 kilometers until you reach Bo. From Bo, take the A1 highway heading southwest towards Freetown. After approximately 130 kilometers, you will arrive at Freetown. Once in Freetown, follow the signs towards the Sierra Leone Peninsula. Take the Lumley Road, which will lead you directly onto the Peninsula. Keep in mind there may be tolls along this route, so have some local currency ready.

• Public Transportation

  To travel by public transport, start at the Kenema bus station. Look for a 'Gelly Gelly' or 'Kekeh' (shared taxi) heading towards Bo. The fare is around 5,000 SLL. Once you reach Bo, transfer to a bus going to Freetown, which will cost approximately 20,000 SLL. Upon arrival in Freetown, take a taxi to the Lumley area. Taxis to the Peninsula from Freetown typically charge between 10,000 to 20,000 SLL depending on your exact destination.

• Taxi

  If you prefer a more direct option, you can hire a private taxi. From Kenema, arrange for a taxi to take you directly to the Sierra Leone Peninsula. Expect to negotiate the fare, which could range from 150,000 to 250,000 SLL depending on the distance and the driver. This option provides convenience, especially if you're traveling with luggage.
