Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving from Kenema, take the A2 highway heading towards Freetown. After approximately 170 kilometers, you will reach the outskirts of Freetown. Continue on the A2 until you approach the city center. Once in Freetown, follow signs to Aberdeen and Man of War Bay. Turn onto Man of War Bay Road, and you will find Sierra Lighthouse Hotel at 6, Man of War Bay on your left. Parking is available at the hotel, but be aware that there may be a parking fee.

• Public Transportation (Bus)

  To reach Sierra Lighthouse Hotel from Kenema via public transport, take a bus heading to Freetown from Kenema Bus Station. The journey will take approximately 4-5 hours depending on traffic. Upon arrival at Freetown's main bus terminal, you can take a taxi or a local 'keke' (motorcycle taxi) to Man of War Bay. The taxi ride should cost around 15,000-25,000 Leones and will take about 15-20 minutes. Make sure to confirm the destination with the driver and ensure they know where Sierra Lighthouse Hotel is located.

• Public Transportation (Shared Taxi)

  An alternative option from Kenema is to take a shared taxi (called 'poda poda') to Freetown. These taxis leave when full and can be found at the Kenema taxi park. The journey typically costs around 30,000 Leones and takes about 4-5 hours. Once you reach Freetown, you can hire another shared taxi to take you directly to Sierra Lighthouse Hotel. Ensure to negotiate the fare beforehand, which should be around 20,000 Leones for the trip to Man of War Bay.
