Walking
From the center of Kenema, head east on Station Road toward the Kenema Market. Continue straight until you reach the junction at the Old Sefadu Road. Turn left onto Old Sefadu Road and keep walking for about 1.5 kilometers. You will pass local shops and residential areas. Look for signs or ask locals for directions to the Artisanal Diamond Mine. Once you reach the designated area near M253+69, you will find the entrance to the mine. The walk will take approximately 30-40 minutes.
Motorbike Taxi (Okada)
Find a motorbike taxi (locally known as an 'Okada') from your location in Kenema. Negotiate the fare and inform the driver that you want to go to the Artisanal Diamond Mine in Old Sefadu. The driver will take you directly to the location, which is approximately 5 kilometers away. The ride should take around 10-15 minutes, depending on traffic and road conditions. Make sure to wear a helmet for safety, which is usually provided by the driver.
Bicycle Rental
Rent a bicycle from a local shop in Kenema. Start your journey by cycling east on Station Road toward the Kenema Market. Continue straight until you reach the junction at Old Sefadu Road. Turn left onto Old Sefadu Road and cycle for about 1.5 kilometers. The route is relatively flat, and you will see local scenery along the way. Once you arrive at M253+69, you will find the entrance to the Artisanal Diamond Mine. The cycling trip should take around 20-30 minutes.
