Getting There

  • Walking

    From the center of Kenema, start at the Kenema Bus Station. Head south on Main Street until you reach the junction with Kono Road. Turn left onto Kono Road and continue walking for about 2 kilometers. You will pass several local shops and markets, which can be a good opportunity to buy some supplies or snacks. After about 15-20 minutes of walking, you will reach a sign indicating Mambo Village. From here, follow the dirt path leading to Mambo Village. The path is well-trodden, but be cautious as it may be uneven. Continue for about 30 minutes until you reach Mambo Village. Once in the village, ask locals for directions to Mambo Waterfalls, as they are familiar with the area and can guide you to the falls.

    If you have access to a bicycle, you can rent one at a local shop in Kenema. Start at the Kenema Bus Station and head south on Main Street. Continue onto Kono Road for approximately 2 kilometers. The ride should take around 10-15 minutes. Look for the sign for Mambo Village and take the dirt path leading into the village. Follow the path for about 30 minutes until you reach Mambo Village. Once in the village, ask for directions to the waterfalls.
