Car
If you are driving from the main town of Makeni in Northern Province, head south on the main road towards Freetown. After approximately 100 km, you will approach the town of Sussex. Look for the sign directing you towards Sussex and take a left turn onto the road leading into the town. Continue straight until you reach the coordinates 8QMW+M68. There are signs along the way that will help guide you to River 2 Beach. Parking is available near the beach.
Public Transportation
To reach River 2 Beach via public transportation, take a shared taxi or bus from Makeni to Freetown. The fare for this journey is usually around 10,000 to 15,000 SLL. Upon arrival in Freetown, look for the taxis heading to Sussex. You can find these at the taxi park. The fare to Sussex is about 5,000 to 10,000 SLL. Once in Sussex, you may need to walk or take a short motorcycle taxi to reach the coordinates 8QMW+M68, which is just a few minutes away.
Motorcycle Taxi
If you are already in Sussex, consider using a motorcycle taxi (also known as 'okada') to cover the last stretch to River 2 Beach. The fare for this ride should not exceed 3,000 SLL.
