Getting There

  • Bicycle

    Start in the center of Port Loko, head south towards the main road. Once you reach the main road, turn left and continue straight for about 5 kilometers until you reach the junction at Koya. At this junction, take a right and follow the road for approximately another 10 kilometers. You will pass through several villages and scenic views. Look for signs directing you towards Tokeh. After about 15 kilometers, you will arrive at the entrance of Western Area National Park.

  • Walking

    From your location in Port Loko, walk towards the main road and head south. Continue walking straight until you reach the Koya junction. This should take about 1-2 hours depending on your pace. At the junction, take a right and continue walking for about 10 kilometers. You will pass through several communities and enjoy the local scenery. Look for signs to Tokeh. After about 15 kilometers, you will arrive at the entrance of Western Area National Park.

  • Motorbike Taxi (Okada)

    From any point in Port Loko, find a nearby motorbike taxi stand. Inform the driver that you want to go to Western Area National Park via Tokeh. The driver will take you south towards the main road. After about 5 kilometers, you will reach the Koya junction. The ride will take approximately 30 minutes. At the junction, the driver will turn right, and you will continue for another 10 kilometers. Expect to pay the driver upon arrival at the entrance of Western Area National Park.
