Getting There
Car
If you're driving to River 2 Beach from Bo, head northwest on the Mattru Road (A11) towards the city of Kenema. After approximately 45 km, take the left turn onto the Bonthe Road (A2) towards Bonthe. Continue on the A2 for about 35 km until you reach the junction leading to Sussex. From the junction, follow the signs to Sussex Beach, and keep going until you reach the coordinates 8QMW+M68. There is a parking area near the beach.
Public Transportation
To reach River 2 Beach via public transportation, catch a shared taxi or ' poda poda' from Bo to Kenema. Once in Kenema, transfer to another shared taxi heading towards Bonthe. Inform the driver you want to get off at the Sussex junction. After reaching the junction, you can either walk or hire a motorbike taxi to take you to River 2 Beach located at 8QMW+M68. Expect to pay around 10,000 SLL for the taxi ride from Kenema to the junction and about 5,000 SLL for the motorbike taxi to the beach.
Motorbike Taxi
If you are in Sussex village, you can easily hire a motorbike taxi to take you directly to River 2 Beach. The ride should cost around 5,000 SLL and will take approximately 10-15 minutes. Just make sure to negotiate the fare before starting your journey.
