Getting There

  • Car

    From Tacugama Chimpanzee Sanctuary, head southwest on the main road towards Freetown. Continue on this road for about 30 minutes. As you approach the outskirts of Freetown, look for signs indicating Goderich. Follow the signs until you reach Goderich. Once in Goderich, follow the Peninsular Highway toward Sugarland Beach. You will arrive at 21 Sugarland Drive, where the beach is located. Ensure your vehicle has enough fuel, and be prepared for possible tolls along the highway.

  • Public Transportation

    From Tacugama Chimpanzee Sanctuary, walk to the nearest bus stop. Take a 'poda poda' (shared minibus) heading toward Freetown. Inform the driver you want to get off at Goderich. The ride will take approximately 45 minutes. Once you arrive in Goderich, you can either walk or take a short motorbike taxi to Sugarland Beach, located at 21 Sugarland Drive. Expect to pay a small fare for the bus (around 2,000 Leones) and a motorbike taxi fare of approximately 5,000 Leones.
