Incredibly knowledgeable and a gifted storyteller, he seamlessly weaves history, architecture, culture, and everyday life into the walking tour. He points out fascinating details you would otherwise miss, from the architectural features of the shophouses to stories about the neighborhood's past and present residents. His explanations of the temples, their deities, and the history behind them are especially engaging. What stood out most was how he highlighted Little India's multicultural character-not just its Indian heritage. He explained how people of different races and religions have coexisted harmoniously for generations, with mosques and churches alongside Hindu temples, Indian businesses operating from Chinese shophouses, and hawker centres serving a wide variety of cuisines beyond Indian food. My partner and I wanted a relaxing excursion rather than a busy sightseeing day, and this was exactly what we hoped for. Olympia has a calm atmosphere that makes it easy to slow down and enjoy the surroundings. The transportation was comfortable, and the guide shared interesting stories without overwhelming us with information. We had enough free time to wander through the archaeological site together. Returning to Katakolon with time to spare before boarding the ship gave us extra peace of mind. A lovely experience from start to finish.

Learning history and beholding modernity

Civic district tour was very insightful. Learned a lot about the history of Singapore, I've been here so many times and yet have so much more to learn. From the gruesome historical elements of WW2 to the beautiful modern light show, this tour showed me Singapore's journey throughout the last 50+ years. The museum was vast and had many exhibitions, modern religions, ancient commerce and tribal cultures were all explored in depth through artifacts. There was something in there for everyone. The walk to the start of the river cruise was long, but I was kept entertained throughout by the guide, as he explained the architecture of the surrounding area, and the significance of statues, buildings and other landmarks. The cruise covered some of the information our guide went through, but it didn't feel repetitive, as there was a new angle to see these things from. The guide's knowledge went far deeper than the surface. Great experience!!
