Getting There

• Car Rental

  If you are renting a car, start from any location in Great Bay. Head northwest on Walter Nisbeth Road (also known as Front Street) towards the roundabout. At the roundabout, take the second exit onto A.T. Illidge Road. Continue driving straight for about 3 km until you reach a second roundabout. Take the first exit onto Simpson Bay Road. Follow the signs for Simpson Bay Lagoon, which will be on your right. The lagoon is accessible from the waterfront, and there are parking areas nearby. Be aware of parking fees that may apply in some areas.

• Public Transportation (Bus)

  To reach Simpson Bay Lagoon by public transportation, look for a local bus heading towards Simpson Bay. These buses are typically marked with their destination and are often found near major hotels or bus stops in Great Bay. Once on the bus, inform the driver that you wish to go to Simpson Bay Lagoon. The bus will take you to Simpson Bay, where you can disembark. From there, it’s a short walk to the lagoon. Make sure to check the bus schedule for return trips, as they may not run frequently. The bus fare is usually around $2-3.

• Taxi

  For a more direct route, consider taking a taxi from your location in Great Bay. Taxis are readily available and can be flagged down on the street or booked through your hotel. Simply inform the driver that you want to go to Simpson Bay Lagoon. The taxi ride will take approximately 10-15 minutes, depending on traffic. Taxi fares in Sint Maarten can range from $15 to $30, so it’s advisable to agree on a fare before starting your journey or ask the driver for an estimate.
