Car
From the center of Philipsburg, head northwest on Front Street (the main road). Continue straight for about 1 kilometer until you reach the roundabout. Take the second exit onto Walter Nisbeth Road (also known as the Pondfill Road). Continue for another 1.5 kilometers. When you reach the second roundabout, take the first exit onto the road that leads to Fort Amsterdam. It is well-marked. Parking is available nearby, but be aware that it may incur a small fee, around $2-$5 depending on the duration.
Public Transportation (Bus)
From the center of Philipsburg, locate the bus stop near the cruise terminal. Look for buses heading towards 'Little Bay' or 'Fort Amsterdam.' The fare is typically around $2.50 per person. The bus ride should take about 10-15 minutes. Get off at the nearest stop to the Fort, and follow the signs to Fort Amsterdam, which is a short walk from the bus stop.
Walking
If you prefer to walk and are located in Philipsburg, start from the beach area (Great Bay Beach). Walk along the beach promenade towards the west until you reach the end of the beach. From there, head up to the road and follow it around the coast. Continue straight until you see signs for Fort Amsterdam. The walk will take approximately 30-40 minutes, offering beautiful views along the way.
