Car
If you are driving, start from the center of Philipsburg and head west on Front Street. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with the A.T. Illidge Road. Turn right onto A.T. Illidge Road and follow it as it curves to the left. Stay on A.T. Illidge Road until you see the sign for Fort Amsterdam on your right. Turn right at the sign, and you'll find parking available near the fort. Be aware that parking may incur a small fee.
Public Transportation (Bus)
To reach Fort Amsterdam via public transportation, locate the nearest bus stop in Philipsburg. Take any bus heading towards Little Bay. Inform the driver that you want to get off at Fort Amsterdam. The bus will drop you off near the entrance of the fort. The bus fare is typically around $2 per person.
Walking
If you prefer to walk, from the center of Philipsburg, head towards the waterfront and follow the promenade west. Continue walking along the beach until you reach the end of the Little Bay area. Fort Amsterdam is situated on a small hill to your left. It is about a 20-30 minute walk from the center of Philipsburg. Wear comfortable shoes, as the terrain can be uneven near the fort.
