Getting There

Car
From Hont, get onto the main road heading north towards Banská Bystrica (Route 66). Continue on this road until you reach the intersection with Route 50. Take Route 50 towards the city of Nitra. After about 35 km, merge onto the D1 highway towards Bratislava. Stay on the D1 for approximately 80 km until you see signs for Bratislava. Follow signs for the city center, and then follow the signs for 'Hrad' which will lead you directly to Bratislava Castle. There is limited parking available near the castle, and parking fees may apply.

Public Transportation
From Hont, take a bus or train to Banská Bystrica. From Banská Bystrica, take a train to Bratislava. The train ride will take approximately 2 to 2.5 hours. Once you arrive in Bratislava, head to the main train station (Bratislava Hlavná Stanica). From there, you can take tram number 1, 2, or 4 towards the city center. Get off at the 'Zámocká' stop, which is a short walk from Bratislava Castle. Keep in mind that tickets for public transportation can be purchased at kiosks or through a mobile app, and you should validate your ticket before boarding.
