Getting there

Car

If you're driving from Hont, take the D1 motorway heading north. Follow the signs for Trenčín. After approximately 20 kilometers, take the exit for Trenčín. Continue on the main road until you reach the city center. Look for Matúšova Street, where the castle is located. There are several parking areas nearby, but be aware that they may charge a fee (approximately €1-€2 per hour).

Public Transportation

From Hont, you can take a regional train towards Trenčín. The journey takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Trenčín train station, exit and take bus number 4 or 5 towards the city center. Get off at the 'Trenčín - Múzeum' stop. From there, it's a short 10-minute walk to Trenčín Castle. Follow the signs leading to the castle, which is situated on a hill. Be sure to check the local timetable for train and bus schedules.

Walking

If you are already in the city of Trenčín, you can walk to the castle. From the city center, head towards the main square and look for signs directing you to Trenčín Castle. The castle is located on a hill, so be prepared for a bit of a climb. The walk takes about 20-30 minutes, and the views along the way are quite scenic.
