Bus
From the center of Poprad, head to the Poprad-Tatry bus station located at Mlynská 1, which is about a 10-minute walk from the main square (Námestie svätého Egídia). Once at the bus station, look for the bus services heading to Vysoké Tatry. The buses are frequent, typically every 30 minutes. Purchase a ticket from the kiosk or directly from the driver. The journey will take approximately 30-40 minutes. Get off at the Vysoké Tatry stop, and from there, follow the signs to Tatra National Park, which is about a 15-minute walk.
Train
Make your way to the Poprad-Tatry railway station, located about a 15-minute walk from the main square (Námestie svätého Egídia). Look for trains heading towards Vysoké Tatry; these trains typically run every hour. After purchasing your ticket at the station or online, board the train. The ride will take around 20-25 minutes. Once you arrive at the Vysoké Tatry station, exit the station and follow the local signs directing you to Tatra National Park, which is approximately a 20-minute walk away.
Walking
If you are feeling adventurous and want to enjoy the scenery, you can walk to Tatra National Park from Poprad. Start at the main square (Námestie svätého Egídia), heading east towards the main road (Hlavná ulica). Follow Hlavná ulica as it leads out of Poprad. The walk is approximately 8 km and will take around 1.5 to 2 hours. Look out for the signs pointing towards Vysoké Tatry and the national park. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring water, as this route can be quite scenic but may also be tiring.
