Walking
If you are already in Strbske Pleso, the Chodník okolo Štrbského plesa (the trail around Štrbské Pleso lake) is easily accessible on foot. Start from the main parking area near the Štrbské Pleso train station. From there, head towards the lake, following the signs that indicate the walking trail. The trail begins at the eastern end of the lake and is well-marked. It takes approximately 30 minutes to walk around the lake at a leisurely pace, allowing for scenic stops along the way.
Public Transportation
If you are coming from nearby towns such as Poprad or Tatranská Lomnica, you can take a train to the Štrbské Pleso train station. Trains run regularly, but it is advisable to check the current schedule. Once you arrive at the station, follow the signs to the Chodník okolo Štrbského plesa, which is just a short walk from the station, approximately 10 minutes. Be sure to have a valid train ticket, which costs around €2-€3, depending on your departure point.
Car
If you are driving, navigate to Štrbské Pleso using your GPS. There are parking facilities available near the lake, especially at the Štrbské Pleso parking area. From the parking lot, follow the well-marked paths leading to the lake. The Chodník okolo Štrbského plesa starts at the eastern side of the lake. Parking fees may apply, so check the signage upon arrival. Expect to pay around €5 for a day of parking.
