Car
If you are traveling by car, start your journey from the city of Liptovský Mikuláš. Head east on the E50 road towards the mountains. Follow the signs to the Popradské pleso area. Once you reach the parking area near the Popradské pleso trailhead, park your car. Note that parking fees may apply, typically around €5-€10 for the day.
Public Transportation - Bus
You can also take a bus from Liptovský Mikuláš to the nearby village of Strbske Pleso. Buses run regularly, and the ride takes about 45 minutes. Once you arrive at Strbske Pleso, look for the signposts directing you to the Popradské pleso trail. It’s about a 30-minute hike from Strbske Pleso to reach Popradské pleso.
Hiking
After parking your car or arriving by bus at Strbske Pleso, follow the marked trail towards Popradské pleso. The trail is well-maintained and suitable for families. Make sure to wear sturdy hiking shoes and carry water. The hike takes approximately 30 minutes, providing beautiful views of the surrounding Tatra mountains. There are signs along the way to guide you.
