Car
From Tekov, take the road heading east towards the D1 highway. Merge onto the D1 highway at the junction and continue driving for approximately 20 kilometers. Take the exit toward Spišská Nová Ves / Levoča and follow the signs for Žehra. After about 10 kilometers, you will reach the village of Žehra. Spiš Castle is located on a hill just a short drive from the village center. Follow the signs to the castle, which will lead you to the parking area.
Public Transportation
Start by taking a bus from Tekov to Spišská Nová Ves. Buses operate regularly and the journey takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive in Spišská Nová Ves, transfer to a local bus heading to Žehra. This part of the journey will take approximately 15 minutes. After arriving in Žehra, follow the signs to Spiš Castle, which is about a 20-minute walk uphill from the village center.
Walking from Žehra
If you arrive in Žehra either by bus or car, you can walk to Spiš Castle. From the village center, look for the signposts leading to the castle. The walk will take around 20 minutes, as you ascend a hill to reach the castle. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes, as the path can be uneven in places.
