To reach Čičmany from Žilina by bus, start at the Žilina bus station (Autobusová stanica Žilina), located near the city center. Look for a bus heading to 'Rajec' or 'Čičmany'. Buses run approximately every hour. Once on the bus, enjoy the scenic ride which takes about 30-40 minutes. Keep an eye out for the stop 'Čičmany'. After getting off, follow the signs towards the village center, where you can explore the famous wooden houses.

From Žilina, you can take a train to Rajec. Head to the Žilina train station (Železničná stanica Žilina) and purchase a ticket to Rajec. Trains run every hour. The journey takes about 15-20 minutes. Once you arrive at Rajec, transfer to the local bus that goes to Čičmany. The bus stop is near the train station. Make sure to check the bus schedule, as they may run less frequently. The bus ride is about 20 minutes.

Walking and Bus
If you prefer a scenic route and some exercise, you can take a bus to Rajecké Teplice from Žilina. From the Žilina bus station, take a bus in the direction of Rajecké Teplice. Once you reach Rajecké Teplice, you can walk to Čičmany. The hike is approximately 8 km and should take around 2 hours. Follow the trail signs that lead you through beautiful countryside until you reach the village.
