Getting There

• Walking

  From the center of Bled, head towards the bus station located on Cesta svobode. Once there, take a bus heading to Ljubljana; these buses run frequently throughout the day. The journey will take approximately 1 hour. Once you arrive at the Ljubljana bus station, exit the station and walk towards Trg Osvobodilne Fronte, which is a short distance away. From the square, continue straight onto Miklošičeva cesta, then turn right onto Prešernova cesta, which will lead you to the Ljubljanica River. Cross the river via the Dragon Bridge (Zmajski Most). Once across, follow the signs to Ljubljana Castle, which is located on a hill. You can either take the funicular railway from the base of the hill or hike up the path that leads directly to the castle entrance.

• Bus

  Take a local bus from Bled to Ljubljana. Buses depart from Bled's main bus station located near the lake. The ride to Ljubljana takes about 1 hour. Once you arrive at the Ljubljana bus station, exit and walk towards the city center. Head straight to the nearest tram stop and take tram number 1 towards 'Bokalce' or 'Kongresni trg'. Get off at the 'Kongresni trg' stop. From there, follow the signs to Ljubljana Castle. It's a short walk through the park, and you will find the entrance to the castle located at Grajska planota 1.

• Taxi

  If you prefer a more direct option, you can take a taxi from Bled to Ljubljana. You can easily find taxis near the lake or at your hotel. Provide the driver with the destination address: Grajska planota 1, 1000 Ljubljana. The drive will take approximately 1 hour, depending on traffic. Upon arrival, you will be at the entrance of Ljubljana Castle.
