Getting There

• Bus

  From Bohinj, head to the nearest bus stop in Bohinjska Bistrica. You can catch a bus to Ajdovščina. The journey takes about 30-45 minutes, depending on the route. Once you arrive at the Ajdovščina bus station, exit the station and walk to the main road (Goriška cesta). Turn left and continue walking until you reach the roundabout. Take the first exit onto Ulica 1. maja and follow the road until you see signs for Grad Vipavski Križ. The castle is about a 10-15 minute walk from the roundabout.

• Train and Bus

  Take a train from Bohinjska Bistrica to Ajdovščina. Ensure to check the train schedule as it may vary. Once you arrive at the Ajdovščina train station, exit and look for the bus stop nearby. Take a local bus heading toward Vipavski Križ. Get off at the stop closest to Grad Vipavski Križ. From there, it will be a short walk to the castle, following any directional signage.

• Walking

  If you're feeling adventurous and are staying in the nearby area, you can walk to Grad Vipavski Križ from Ajdovščina. Starting from the Ajdovščina center, head towards the old town and follow the signs leading to the castle. It is approximately a 35-minute walk and will take you through some charming local streets and views.
