Car
If you are driving from any location in Coastal-Karst, head towards the town of Postojna. Follow the signs for the H4 highway or the E61 motorway (which is part of the European route network) towards Postojna. After approximately 20 minutes of driving, take the exit toward Postojna. Continue straight on Jamska cesta until you reach the Postojna Cave entrance at Jamska cesta 30, 6230 Postojna. Keep in mind that parking is available near the cave entrance, but may incur a fee of around €5 for the day.
Public Transportation - Bus
For those using public transportation, there are regular bus services from nearby towns such as Ljubljana and Koper. Take a bus heading to Postojna (check the local schedules for specific times as they may vary). Once you arrive at the Postojna bus station, you can either walk to the cave, which is about a 20-minute walk (1.5 km) northeast along Jamska cesta, or you may find local taxis available at the bus station for a small fee, typically around €5-€10.
Public Transportation - Train
If you prefer to travel by train, take a train to the Postojna railway station. From the station, the cave is about 3 km away. You can either walk (approximately 30 minutes) or take a local taxi for around €7-€10. If you choose to walk, exit the train station and head northeast on Tržaška cesta, then turn left onto Jamska cesta to reach the cave entrance at Jamska cesta 30.
