Mesarski Most: A Scenic Icon of Ljubljana

Getting There

• Car

  If you're traveling by car, from most locations in Inner Carniola, you can head towards Ljubljana. Take the A2 motorway towards Ljubljana. The drive should take approximately 1 hour depending on your starting point. Once in Ljubljana, follow the signs for the city center. As you approach the center, you will see signs directing you to 'Mesarski most' or 'Meat Bridge'. There is usually available parking nearby, but be sure to check for any parking fees that may apply.

• Public Transportation

  For those using public transportation, you can take a bus from various towns in Inner Carniola to Ljubljana. Check the local bus schedules for the most convenient route. Upon arriving at the Ljubljana main bus station, exit the station and head towards the city center. You can either walk (about 15 minutes) or take a local tram. If you choose to walk, head towards the river and follow it until you see Mesarski most. The bridge is easily accessible from major walking paths along the riverbank.

• Walking

  Once you are in the city center of Ljubljana, whether you come by car or public transport, walking is a great way to reach Mesarski most. From the Ljubljana Castle, walk down towards the river. Cross over the main road, and you will find yourself on the banks of the Ljubljanica River. Continue walking along the river until you reach Mesarski most, which is located near the central market area. This scenic walk will take about 10 minutes.
