From the center of Izola, head towards the waterfront promenade. Walk along the promenade in the direction of Portorož. After approximately 1.5 kilometers, you will reach a bus stop named 'Izola, Avtobusna postaja' where you can catch a bus to Villa Opicina. Take bus number 6 towards Trieste. Once you arrive at the Villa Opicina bus stop, it’s about a 10-minute walk to the Obelisk. Head northeast on Via della Libertà, then turn left onto Via Opicina. Continue straight until you reach the Obelisk monument located at the end of the road.
Public Transport
Begin at the Izola bus station ('Avtobusna postaja Izola'). Buy a ticket for the bus headed to Trieste (usually, line 6 or similar). The journey will take about 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Villa Opicina, exit the bus and walk northeast on Via della Libertà for about 10 minutes. Continue straight until you see the Obelisk at the end of Via Opicina.
