From the center of Kamnik, head to the main bus station located at Trg svobode. Look for the bus to Ljubljana, which will take approximately 30 minutes. Once you arrive at the Ljubljana bus station, follow the signs to the city center. Exit the station and walk towards the main road, Slovenska cesta. From there, you can catch a city bus (Bus No. 6 or 8) heading towards Celovška cesta. Get off at the stop named 'Celovška cesta' and the National Museum of Contemporary History will be just a short walk away at Celovška cesta 23.

Although there is no direct train to Ljubljana from Kamnik, you can take a train from the nearest train station in Domžale. First, take a local bus or taxi from Kamnik to Domžale train station. Then, catch a train heading to Ljubljana. Upon arriving at Ljubljana train station, exit and walk towards the main road, Slovenska cesta. From there, catch a local bus (Bus No. 6 or 8) to Celovška cesta. Get off at the stop named 'Celovška cesta' and the National Museum of Contemporary History is located at Celovška cesta 23.
