From the center of Kamnik, head to the main bus station located at Trg svobode 1, Kamnik. Check the local bus schedule for routes heading towards Vrhpolje. The bus ride should take approximately 15-20 minutes. Get off at the Vrhpolje stop, which is the closest stop to Tolsta Gora. From the bus stop, walk south along the main road for about 10 minutes until you reach the hiking trails leading up to Tolsta Gora.

If you prefer to walk, start at the main square in Kamnik (Trg svobode). Head southeast on Cankarjeva cesta. Continue straight until you reach the junction with the road leading to Vrhpolje. Follow this road for approximately 3 kilometers. As you approach Vrhpolje, look for signs indicating the trail to Tolsta Gora. The walking route should take around 45-60 minutes, depending on your pace.

Rent a bicycle from one of the local shops in Kamnik. Start at the central square and take Cankarjeva cesta heading southeast. Follow the main road towards Vrhpolje. It’s a scenic route and should take about 20-30 minutes by bike. Upon reaching Vrhpolje, lock your bike at a designated area and follow the marked trail to Tolsta Gora.
