Getting There

  • Walking

    From the center of Kranjska Gora, start at the Tourist Information Center located on the main road (Zgornja Radovna 1). Head southeast on the main road towards the edge of town. After approximately 1.5 kilometers, you will reach the intersection at the Hotel Kompas. Turn left onto the road leading towards Rateče. Continue walking for about 3 kilometers along the scenic path until you reach the village of Rateče. Once in Rateče, follow the signs towards Tamar Valley. After entering the valley, you will see signs directing you to Mountain Home Tamar. The total walking distance is about 5 kilometers, taking approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes.

  • Public Transport (Bus)

    From Kranjska Gora, head to the nearest bus stop located at the main square (Trg Pred Sedmimi Vrsticami). Take the bus service heading to Rateče; buses run several times a day. The bus ride will take approximately 15 minutes. Once you arrive in Rateče, disembark at the Rateče stop. From there, follow the road signs towards Tamar Valley. It’s about a 30-minute walk (approximately 2 kilometers) to reach Mountain Home Tamar.

  • Biking

    Rent a bicycle from one of the rental shops in Kranjska Gora. Start your journey from the main square and head southeast on the main road towards Rateče. The bike ride is approximately 5 kilometers, which should take around 20-25 minutes. Follow the signs for Tamar Valley as you approach Rateče, and continue biking until you reach Mountain Home Tamar. The bike path is mostly flat and offers beautiful views along the way.
