Bled Castle: A Majestic Journey Through Time

Getting There

• Bus

  From Ljubljana city center, head to the main bus station located at Avtobusna postaja Ljubljana. You can walk there from Prešeren Square (Prešernov trg) or take tram line 2 to the station. At the bus station, purchase a ticket for Bled. The trip takes about 1 hour. Once you arrive at Bled, exit the bus and follow the signs directing you to the lake. Continue walking along the lake until you reach the east side, then follow the signs indicating the path to Bled Castle, which is a short uphill walk from the lake.

• Train

  Start at the Ljubljana Train Station (Železniška postaja Ljubljana). Take a train towards Jesenice and get off at Bled Jezero station. The train ride is approximately 40 minutes. After exiting the train, follow the signs to the bus stop and take bus number 20 towards Bled. Get off at the Bled stop, and from there, follow the signs to Bled Castle, which is situated on a hill overlooking the lake.

• Tourist Shuttle

  In the summer months, there is a tourist shuttle service available that operates between Ljubljana and Bled. Check the tourist information center for the shuttle's schedule. Once you board the shuttle at a designated point in Ljubljana, enjoy the scenic ride to Bled. Upon arrival, you can either walk directly to the castle or enjoy the beautiful lakeside before heading up to Bled Castle.

• Walking

  If you are feeling adventurous and are staying at a nearby accommodation, you might consider walking to Bled from the surrounding areas. However, be prepared for a longer trek as it can take several hours. Start by following the signs leading towards the main roads that lead to Bled and enjoy the picturesque scenery along the way.
