Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, start from any location in Lower Carniola. Use the main road network, and head towards the A1 motorway, which connects Lower Carniola to Ljubljana. Depending on your starting point, you may take local roads to reach the A1. For example, if you are in the town of Trebnje, head north on the local road until you reach the A1 entrance, then merge onto the A1. Continue on the A1 for approximately 40 kilometers until you see signs for Ljubljana. Take exit 18 toward Ljubljana-Center, and follow the signs to the city center. Be prepared for city traffic as you enter Ljubljana. Parking is available in various parking garages around the city, with costs typically ranging from €1 to €2 per hour.

• Bus

  For public transportation, you can take a bus from various towns in Lower Carniola to Ljubljana. For instance, if you are in Novo Mesto, head to the main bus station. Buses to Ljubljana are frequent, and you can check the schedule online or at the station. The journey takes about 50 minutes to 1 hour, and the ticket costs approximately €5. Once you arrive at the Ljubljana bus station, the city center is within walking distance, or you can take a local tram or bus for a small additional fare.

• Train

  Alternatively, you can travel by train. If you are in towns like Celje or Novo Mesto, head to the nearest train station. Trains to Ljubljana are available throughout the day, with travel times varying from 1 to 1.5 hours depending on your departure point. Tickets typically cost around €6. Upon arrival at Ljubljana train station, you can easily walk or take a local bus or tram to reach the city center.
