Buses to Aquileia may not run frequently, so check the schedule in advance. The journey will take approximately 1 hour. After arriving in Aquileia, the main archaeological sites are within walking distance from the bus stop.

Head to the Koper train station, which is a short walk from the city center. Board a train heading towards Trieste, Italy. Get off at the next major stop, which is Monfalcone. From Monfalcone, catch a local bus to Aquileia. The entire journey may take around 1.5 to 2 hours depending on connections. Ensure you check the train and bus schedules ahead of time.

If you prefer a scenic route and are up for a long walk, you can walk towards the coastline, following the path along the sea. Head north along the coast until you reach the town of Grado.
