From the center of Postojna, head towards the Postojna Cave entrance. Exit the cave area and proceed to the bus station, which is approximately a 15-minute walk. At the bus station, take a bus heading to Trieste. The journey will take about 1 hour and 15 minutes. Once you arrive at the Trieste bus station, head towards Piazzale Biagio Marin. You can either walk for about 20 minutes or take a local tram towards the waterfront area. The Barcola fountain is located near the waterfront, and you will see it once you reach Piazzale Biagio Marin.
