From Postojna, head to the main bus station located at Trg Zgornja Postaja 1. Look for the buses heading to Cerknica. The bus ride will take approximately 30 minutes. Once you arrive at the Cerknica bus station, exit the bus and walk towards the main road, following the signs for Lake Cerknica. It is about a 15-minute walk from the bus station. Follow the road until you see signs for the lake, and you will reach your destination.
Bicycle
If you prefer to cycle, you can rent a bike in Postojna. Start at the center of Postojna and head east towards the cycling path that leads out of the city. Follow the signs for Cerknica, which is approximately 20 km away. The route is mostly flat and takes you through scenic countryside. Upon reaching Cerknica, follow local signs directing you to Lake Cerknica, which is located just north of the main town area.
Walking
For those who enjoy walking, you can take a scenic route from Postojna to Cerknica. Start by heading east out of Postojna on foot, following the path along the main road. This is roughly a 10 km walk and will take around 2 hours. Make sure to keep an eye out for signs that indicate the direction to Cerknica. Once you reach Cerknica, you can ask locals for directions to Lake Cerknica, which is well-known and they should be happy to help you find your way.
