Car
If you are driving, start by heading towards the A1 motorway. From cities like Maribor or Graz, follow signs for the A1 towards Ljubljana. Take the exit for Celje and continue following signs towards Solčava. Once you reach Solčava, look for signs directing you to the Štajerska Rinka. The final approach is via a scenic mountain road, so be prepared for some narrow and winding paths. Parking is available near the trailhead.
Public Transportation
If you prefer public transportation, take a train to the town of Celje. From Celje, you can catch a local bus to Solčava. Buses may not run frequently, so check the timetable ahead of time. Once in Solčava, you can either hike to Štajerska Rinka or find a local taxi service that can take you closer to the starting point of the trail. Expect to pay a small fee for the taxi ride.
Hiking
For those who are adventurous and in good physical shape, you can hike from Solčava to Štajerska Rinka. The hike is about 10 kilometers and can take approximately 3-4 hours depending on your pace. Follow the marked hiking trails, and make sure to have a map or GPS device since cell service may be spotty in the mountains. Pack plenty of water and snacks for the journey.
Taxi Services
If you are in Solčava and prefer not to hike, consider using a local taxi service. Taxis can take you directly to the trailhead of Štajerska Rinka. It's advisable to call ahead for a taxi, as they may not always be readily available. The cost may vary, but expect to pay around €10-€20 for the short trip, depending on your exact pickup location.
