Begin your journey in Auki, the capital of Malaita. Rent a car from one of the local rental agencies. Once you have your vehicle, head southwest on the main road (the Auki-Malaita Highway). Continue on this road for approximately 40 kilometers. Look for signs pointing towards Mount Latinarau, as you near the village of Fiu. The last stretch to the mountain may require a 4WD vehicle due to rough terrain. It is advisable to check the local weather conditions before your trip, as roads may be impassable during heavy rain.

From Auki, you can take a local bus heading toward Fiu. Buses leave frequently from the Auki bus terminal.
