Car
If you are driving from Gizo, head east on the main road towards Nusa Roviana. Continue along the coast road until you reach Munda, which is approximately 45 minutes away. From Munda, take the ferry service to San Cristobal. Make sure to check the ferry schedule in advance, as it may vary. The ferry ride takes about 1-1.5 hours, and be prepared for a fare that typically costs around SB$100-SB$200 per person.
Public Transport (Bus and Ferry)
From Gizo, take a local bus heading to Munda. Buses usually leave from the main bus station in Gizo and the trip will take about 1 hour. Once in Munda, head to the ferry terminal, where you can purchase tickets for the ferry to San Cristobal. The ferry ride lasts about 1-1.5 hours and costs approximately SB$100-SB$200 per person. Ensure to confirm the departure times, as they can change.
Boat Charter
If you prefer a more private means of transportation, consider hiring a boat charter from Gizo or Munda directly to San Cristobal. Several local operators offer this service, and prices can vary widely depending on the size of the boat and number of passengers. Expect to pay anywhere from SB$500 for a small boat to SB$2000 for a larger vessel. This option allows for a more direct route and potentially a scenic trip through the waters.
