Car
To reach Sheikh Mountains by car from Hargeisa, take the Hargeisa-Borama road (also known as the A1 road). Drive approximately 40 kilometers until you reach the town of Shiikh. Upon entering Shiikh, follow the signs directing you towards the Sheikh Mountains. The mountains are located about 10 kilometers from the town center. Note that the roads may be unpaved, so a 4x4 vehicle is recommended. There are no tolls on this route.

Public Transportation
From Hargeisa, you can take a shared taxi or a minibus heading towards Borama. Inform the driver that you want to stop at Shiikh. The fare is usually around 20,000 SOS (Somali Shillings). The journey takes about 1.5 to 2 hours. Once you arrive at Shiikh, you can hire a local guide or a taxi to take you the remaining 10 kilometers to the Sheikh Mountains. The local taxi fare might cost around 5,000 to 10,000 SOS.

If you are already in Shiikh and wish to hike to the Sheikh Mountains, start from the town center and head southwest. The distance is about 10 kilometers, which should take roughly 2 to 3 hours on foot. Follow the dirt path leading out of the town, and you will see the mountains in the distance. Make sure to carry enough water and wear suitable hiking shoes.
