If you are driving from the town of Estcourt, head northeast on the R103 road. Follow the R103 for approximately 24 kilometers until you reach the turnoff for the Spionkop Nature Reserve. Turn left onto the gravel road leading into the reserve. Continue straight for about 3 kilometers until you see the Spionkop Battlefield entrance. There is a small entrance fee for accessing the battlefield area, so be prepared with cash.

For those using public transportation, start by taking a bus from Estcourt to Ladysmith. Buses frequently run between these two towns. Upon arriving in Ladysmith, you will need to take a taxi (or minibus taxi) towards the Spionkop Nature Reserve. Inform the driver that you wish to go to Spionkop Battlefield. The taxi ride from Ladysmith to the battlefield will take about 30 minutes, and you should expect to pay around R150 for the fare.
