Car
If you're driving from the Battlefields area, start by heading east on the R33 towards Weenen. Continue on the R33 for approximately 30 km until you reach the town of Weenen. Once in Weenen, look for the signs directing you to the Weenen Nature Reserve. The entrance to the reserve will be on your left after you pass through the town. Be sure to keep an eye out for wildlife along the way!
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, your best option is to take a bus from one of the main towns in the Battlefields area to Weenen. Buses may not run frequently, so check the local schedule in advance. Once you arrive in Weenen, you can hire a taxi or use a ride-sharing service to get to the Weenen Nature Reserve. Make sure to confirm the fare with the driver before starting your journey.
Combination (Car and Walking)
If you are near the town of Weenen and prefer walking, park your car in the town center. From there, it's about a 5 km walk to the entrance of Weenen Nature Reserve. Follow the signs towards the reserve, which will lead you along a scenic route. Be prepared for some uneven terrain, and wear comfortable walking shoes. The entrance fee for the reserve is typically around R40 per person, so bring cash for entry.
