Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, begin your journey in the town of St. Lucia. From St. Lucia, head south on the R620 road towards the N2 highway. Merge onto the N2 highway and continue for approximately 30 kilometers. Take the exit toward the R22 road, and follow the signs for Cape Vidal. After about 10 kilometers, turn left onto the Cape Vidal Road (also known as the R22). Continue on this road for about 8 kilometers, where you will reach the entrance to Cape Vidal. Please note that there is an entrance fee to the iSimangaliso Wetland Park, which is approximately R 80 per adult and R 40 per child.

• Public Transportation

  For those using public transportation, start in St. Lucia where you can catch a shuttle or taxi service that operates to Cape Vidal. The shuttle services typically run on a scheduled basis, so check with local providers such as 'St. Lucia Shuttle Service' for current schedules and fares. Expect to pay around R 100 - R 150 per person for a one-way trip. Ensure to confirm the return schedules so you can plan your visit accordingly. Once you arrive at Cape Vidal, the beach and launch site are easily accessible on foot.

• Taxi or Ride-share

  If you prefer a more private form of transportation, consider using a local taxi or ride-sharing service (like Bolt or Uber, if available). From St. Lucia, simply enter 'Cape Vidal Beach & Launch Site' as your destination in the app. The fare may vary but expect it to be around R 300 to R 400 for a round trip. As with other transport options, confirm with your driver about the return trip timing.
