From the central area of Highveld, head southeast on the N1 highway towards Pretoria. Take the exit toward the R21 highway, following signs for the airport. Continue on the R21 for approximately 15 km. Take the exit toward the R55 road, and continue straight. After about 10 km, you will see signs for Mkhombo Nature Reserve. Turn left onto Assegaai Wood Rd and follow this road until you reach the entrance of the reserve. Parking is available at the entrance, and there may be a small entrance fee, typically around R30 per vehicle.

If you are using public transportation, start by taking a taxi or bus to Centurion. From Centurion Station, look for local taxis heading towards Rooihuiskraal. Confirm with the driver that they go to Assegaai Wood Rd. Once you arrive at the nearest stop to Mkhombo Nature Reserve, you may need to walk approximately 1 km to the entrance. Be prepared for a small entrance fee when you reach the reserve.

For the more adventurous, consider cycling to Mkhombo Nature Reserve. Start from Highveld and make your way to the R55 road. Follow the R55 southbound, which has a designated bicycle lane. After approximately 10 km, look for signs directing you to Assegaai Wood Rd. The reserve entrance is about 5 km from the R55. Ensure you have a helmet and reflective gear for safety. Remember to carry cash for the entrance fee.
