If you are traveling by car, start from the center of Gansbaai. Head southeast on Main Road (R43) towards Van Dyks Bay. After approximately 5 kilometers, you will see signs for the African Penguin and Seabird Sanctuary. Follow the signs that will lead you directly to the sanctuary, located at Van Dyks Bay, 7220. Parking is available on-site, but please be aware that there may be a small parking fee.

For those using public transportation, take a bus from Hermanus to Gansbaai. The bus service operates several times a day. Once you arrive at the Gansbaai bus station, you can either walk or take a local taxi to the sanctuary. Walking will take approximately 30 minutes: head southeast on Main Road (R43), then follow the signs to Van Dyks Bay. Alternatively, local taxis are available at the bus station, and a short ride to the sanctuary should not exceed R50.
